The property

Located in the heart of the Pomerol appellation, the Château Clinet and its famous gravel plots, is one of the most beautiful references of Pomerol. This property on the right bank of Bordeaux was bought in 1999 by the Laborde family.

The vineyard

Château Clinet oversees an exceptional 9-hectare vineyard on a clay-gravel terroir. This Pomerol vineyard is managed using sustainable agriculture.

The vintage

The 2020 vintage is marked by a very wet spring that preceded a summer with hot and particularly dry conditions. While the fully ripe grapes harvested are small in size, their health quality is remarkable.

Vinification and aging

Manual sorting followed by light crushing. Parcel vinification in thermoregulated stainless steel tanks, accompanied by manual punching down to promote gentle extraction. The aging lasts about 16 months in new barrels (80%) (Bordeaux barrels of 225 liters and "Burgundy" barrels of 500 liters) as well as in barrels of one wine (20%).

Blend

Château Clinet 2020 is a blend of merlot (80%) and cabernet sauvignon (20%).
