The product of a very good year for the Bordeaux region, the Château Lagrange 2018 marks the birth of one of the most powerful and harmonious vintages ever produced by this emblematic property in the Saint-Julien appellation.

A vintage marked by strong climatic contrasts, 2018 began with rainy conditions, while the summer was one of the hottest and dryest ever recorded since 1996. At Château Lagrange, the grape harvest began on September 20th and ended October 13, 2018.

A red Grand Vin from Saint-Julien, the Château Lagrange 2018 blends Cabernet Sauvignon (67%), Merlot (28%) and Petit Verdot (5%). The wine is aged in oak barrels (50% new oak) for 21 months.

At the tasting, the Château Lagrange 2018 has a beautiful dark colour. The very intense aromatic bouquet seduces with notes of black fruits, including cherry and plum, evolving fresh peppery notes. On the palate, the wine displays a gourmand material, with a suave texture and dense, perfectly molten tannins. Simultaneously powerful and harmonious, the wine retains a great aromatic freshness. A great vintage for Château Lagrange, already accessible in its youth but also promising a beautiful evolution over time.
